Shri Shivabhai Umedbhai Patel Central Library, The University library of Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan was established in the year 1988. The S.U. Patel library building establish the donation given by Dr. M. S. Patel Trust, Mumbai and the government of Gujarat grant.
The HNGU, S.U. Patel library well furnished specious and rich collection of Books and other educational resources with a separate reading room which provides a serene and noiseless atmosphere to the students for reading and research. Present the University library has more than 92000 books on various subjects of Science, Arts and Humanities, Architecture, Commerce and management, Computer Science, Law, Physical Education, Journalism etc.
The library also has subscribed more than 100 different periodicals in print form. The entire collection of the library is computerized enabling issue/return function automatically by using the library automation software (SOUL 3.0) with a bar-code system. Index boxed, computer user terminals (OPAC) are also available in the library to search for books by author, title, Accession no. etc.
